James is a retired Electrical Engineer, Treasurer - Engineers Without Borders Lehigh Valley ProfessionalChapter (EWB-LVP) with a BS and MS from Lehigh University. He has held design positions with Ford, Bitronics, Thor Power and HindlePower. He has also held teaching and research positions at Lehigh University. Jim is Treasurer of EWB-LVP. Country, Culture, Challenges: EWB projects in Sierra Leone
Jim will discuss the last fifteen years of projects that have been carried out by EWB-LVP in Sierra Leone. The country, its history, culture and the challenges of engineering projects in a third world country will be discussed. Projects have included solar power, water, sanitation and building construction. Engineers Without Borders as an organization will also be presented.
